Dr. Jozef Fourie completed his internship at the Department Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Pretoria, and in 2008 he became registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Biological Scientist, specializing in Reproductive Biology. He was appointed as Assistant Director: Medical Sciences, at Steve Biko Academic Hospital and functioned as Head Embryologist at the Reproductive Biology Laboratory. For his research Dr Jozef Fourie was awarded a PhD (Reproductive Biology) by the University of Pretoria in 2013. Dr. Jozef Fourie joined Dr. Slabbert’s team as Head of Laboratory Services in 2014.
He not only produces excellent results in the laboratory, but enjoys interacting with patients, giving them feedback, and making them part of all laboratory procedures. He endeavours to cater for the individual needs of each and every patient, and he considers himself fortunate to be able to partake in their fertility journeys.
